It not a rule but a guideline. If we are giving thanks, it's likely he'll be a part of it. But if we are making a lot of coarse jesting, or flippant talk, its likely God won't show up in that. Its more of a question of how we gather in his name and what we do with that time, because it is significant if Christ is a part of it, and not just another party. I mean it occurs on a daily basis whether we know it or not. I kind of get a sense of where you're coming from, but yet again there's always going some type of distraction in any type of gathering.
